Our history
Tjaart Oosthuizen & Co was initially established on 1 March 1991, when Tjaart Oosthuizen (Snr), a qualified Chartered Accountant and Auditor, together with Minnie, his spouse since 1981, opened his doors as a sole practitioner in Modimolle (then Nylstroom). The expansion of the practice and the rendering of the highest quality of efficient, professional services were guided by our emphasis on the highest values of morality and integrity.

Our main focus
Our focus is rendering services of the highest quality to our clients and to develop quality relationships with our clients. On 1 March 2013, this professional Accounting and Auditing practice entered a new era with the admittance of Tjaart Oosthuizen (Jnr) as partner, bringing advanced tegnological innovations to the table. The depth and value of the succession planning that is in place, is a guarantee to our clients of the perpetuation of our services from one generation to the next.

We insist of the highest ethical standards and conduct our business in a manner that depicts our adherence and regard for values, trust, integrity, professionalism and outstanding service delivery. These factors characterise our relationships with our clients.

Our services


Accounting and Auditing Services
We render accounting services on a monthly and annual basis, to a diverse range of clients from Individuals to Proprietary Limited Companies, with special emphasis on owner-managed entities. Our focus is a value added service whilst a high partner to staff ratio ensures the quality of our service delivery.

Although not limited to, our services include monthly processing of accounting transactions, preparation of monthly or periodic management accounts, administration of payroll systems and Workmens’ Compensation. Our Accounting services include various of the tasks specified under Taxation Services.
Statutory Services
Our Statutory Services include our appointment as Statutory Auditors and Statutory Reviewers for Proprietary Limited Companies and Statutory Accounting Officers to Close Corporations. Various returns are submitted in compliance with the Income Tax Act, the Companies Act and the Close Corporations Act.

We also register Companies with the CIPC and see to the registration of Inter Vivos Trusts at the Master’s Office. Annual Returns as required by CIPC are submitted on an annual basis, whilst all changes to companies ie Name, Directorships, Registered Addresses can be registered at CIPC by ourselves.
Estate Planning
We assist our clients in planning their estates not to only maximise their after tax estate value, but also to cause as little as possible disruption to those who are left behind. Estate Planning is part of our focus, whilst the perpetuation of business investments is of paramount importance.

The creation of Inter Vivos and Testamentary Trusts (via wills) frequently form part of the restructuring of our clients’ estate. We assist our clients with their wills, whilst we assist with the winding up of Estates. Integritus Executors (Pty) Ltd, a company specializing in the task of the Executor, is associated with our practice through shareholding and directorship.
Consulting, Advisory and Valuation Services
Our emphasis is on partnering with our clients in assessing the feasibility of various business options. We frequently act as “sound boards” for our clients in determining the probability for success and potential profitability of various projects, as well as spotting various opportunities in the market. The valuation of businesses, both for purchase and sale purposes as well as for Capital Gains Tax purposes, is conducted.
Tax Services
The only certainty, it is said, is DEATH AND TAXES!! In our Tax compliance department, we assist our clients in adhering to the relevant tax laws and tax regulations in a timeous manner, resulting in penalities and interest to be eliminated or limited as far as possible. As is the case with our practice as a whole, we strive in maintaining good relationships with our tax authorities whilst adhering to transparent reporting.
Software Service Providers and Trainers
Whilst we are registered Resellers of Sage Pastel products, our competent staff are also involved in training and support on Sage Pastel Accounting and Sage Pastel Payroll as well as the SARS E-filing and E@syfile systems.
